Which enclosures do you recommend for coastal or marine environments?Outdoor, Weather & UV Resistance

Coastal and marine installations call for corrosion-resistant, UV-stable materials such as polycarbonate or glass-reinforced polyester (GRP), rather than metal enclosures or fixings that are prone to salt-air corrosion. A NEMA 4X rating, roughly equivalent to IP66, indicates an enclosure has passed 200 hours of salt-spray testing for corrosion resistance.

Are the enclosures available in other colours?Fittings & Installation

Standard Spelsberg enclosures are supplied in a single colour, as most specifications prioritise size, strength and ingress protection over appearance. Custom colour options, including black, can be produced to order for installations where an enclosure will be visible and aesthetics matter.

Will using a cable gland through a knockout affect the enclosure's IP rating?IP Ratings & Ingress Protection

Using a cable gland through a knockout does not affect an enclosure's IP rating, provided the gland's own rating matches or exceeds it. Spelsberg's cable gland range is rated IP68, and gland/enclosure spec sheets are available to confirm compatibility for a specific installation.
